GTA 6 Map Locations: All Confirmed Vice City Areas So Far
With Rockstar's recent information dump including official character bios, 63 new screenshots, and pre-orders going live, we now have a much clearer picture of GTA VI's map. Here's every confirmed location in the state of Leonida so far.
Vice City โ The Neon Heart of Leonida
Vice City returns as the main urban hub, and it looks bigger and more detailed than ever. The screenshots show Vice City bathed in neon at night and bathed in Florida sun during the day, with distinct districts visible including:
- Downtown Vice City โ The bustling core with skyscrapers, billboards, and heavy traffic
- Vice Beach โ Coastal strip with boardwalks, hotels, and beachfront properties
- Commercial Districts โ Tattoo parlors, mod shops, and high-end storefronts (some Ultimate Edition exclusive)
- Industrial Zones โ Warehouses, docks, and shipping infrastructure
- Residential Areas โ Suburban neighborhoods with classic Rockstar personality
The Keys โ Jason's Home Turf
According to Jason's official bio, he "found himself in the Keys doing what he knows best, working for local drug runners." The Florida Keys are confirmed as a playable region, offering a stark contrast to the urban intensity of Vice City.
Expect a chain of islands connected by bridges, with quiet fishing towns, mangrove swamps, and secluded beaches where the drug trade operates out of sight. This area also appears to house some of Brian Heder's smuggling operations.
Leonida State โ Beyond the City
The game is set across the fictional state of Leonida, which serves as Rockstar's version of Florida. Beyond Vice City and the Keys, players can expect:
- Everglades-style wetlands โ Swamps, airboat country, and hidden criminal outposts
- Rural highways โ Long stretches of road connecting major locations, perfect for high-speed chases
- Port towns โ Smaller coastal communities with their own economies and criminal networks
- Wilderness areas โ State parks, forests, and protected lands with wildlife
Coastal Waters & Marine Environment
Screenshots from today's dump confirm extensive water-based gameplay. Boats of all sizes populate the coastline, and the presence of marine wildlife โ including a highly detailed dolphin โ suggests the waters around Leonida are a living ecosystem.
The coastline appears to feature beaches, marinas, shipping ports, and hidden coves, giving players plenty of options for water-based exploration and criminal activities.
Liberty City Connection
Lucia's bio reveals she was born in Liberty City before moving to Leonida. While Liberty City hasn't been confirmed as a playable location in GTA VI, the connection hints at backstory that may be explored through missions or even potential DLC down the line.
Map Size & Scope
Early analysis suggests the GTA VI map is significantly larger than GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2 combined. The combination of dense urban environments, sprawling suburbs, island chains, swampland, and open ocean gives Rockstar the most diverse map they've ever created.
